  16. This afternoon, I hooked up a 14,400 baud modem to my UNIX box, set
  17. the line being used to 19,200 bps (the modem's manual suggests setting
  18. the speed between the modem and computer to 19,200 bps) in inittab and
  19. set C-Kermit's speed to 19,200 bps.  Although everything else, such as
  20. viewing files on the screen, reading news, etc., is faster, when I
  21. attempt to transfer any files, the file transfer is about as slow as
  22. it was as 1,200 bps!  Am I doing someting wrong, or is kermit supposed
  23. to transfer files this slowly?  It took almost 4 minutes to
  24. transfer a 25K uncompressed text file.

  27. what, if anything, is wrong here.
